     INTRODUCTION

EPC Certificates came into force in 2006. They are required when selling or letting a property. They are also used when having an energy efficiency measure fitted to your property such as loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, or a new boiler fitted under an ECO scheme.

You can learn how to reduce your Carbon Footprint by having a survey undertaken. And learn what energy efficiency measures are relevant for your property.

Air Source Heat Pumps are a renewable technology. They work by extracting warm air molecules from the outside air, then by using a heat exchanger turn this into heat in your home. You can apply for the RNHI (Renewable heat incentive) from the government. These units are highly efficient, where a boiler is typically around 86% efficient the ASHP is an average of 250% to 400 %. Possibly consider an ASHP when your boiler is due to be replaced.
